How to install the Fargo 4500 YMCKO Colour Ribbon

Changing the Fargo 45000 YMCKO Colour Ribbon on the DTC1000:

  1. Open the Printer Cover. Check that the DTC1000 card printer is turned on (this allows the printer to properly recognise and calibrate the new ribbon). Open the printer cover by gently pulling it upwards.

  2. Remove the Used Ribbon. Find the used ribbon cartridge inside the printer. Gently press down on the ribbon cartridge release tab to unlock it, then pull the cartridge out.

  3. Clean the printer. Using a licensed cleaning kit, clean inside the printer. This is recommended by manufacturers and mandatory to avoid voiding your printer guarantee in most cases.

  4. Prepare the New Ribbon. Take the new Fargo 45000 YMCKO Colour Ribbon and remove any packaging or seals. Make sure to handle the ribbon carefully to avoid touching the printing surface.

  5. Insert the New Ribbon: Align the new ribbon cartridge with the guides inside the printer. Once inserted, you should hear a click to indicate that it's securely locked into place.

  6. Close the Printer Cover: Close the printer cover until it clicks shut.

  1. Open the Printer Cover. Turn on the DTC1250e card printer and open the printer cover by gently pulling it upwards.

  2. Remove the Used Ribbon. Find the used ribbon cartridge inside the printer. Press the blue release lever to unlock the ribbon cartridge, then lift it out of the printer.

  3. Clean the printer. Using a licensed cleaning kit, clean inside the printer. This is recommended by manufacturers and mandatory to avoid voiding your printer guarantee in most cases.

  4. Prepare the New Ribbon: Take the new Fargo 45000 YMCKO Colour Ribbon and remove any packaging or seals. Be sure to handle the ribbon with care, avoiding anything touching with the printing surface.

  5. Insert the New Ribbon: Align the new ribbon cartridge with the guides inside the printer. Gently slide it into place until it clicks and locks into position.

  6. Close the Printer Cover: Close the printer cover securely.
